Program Description The Dental Hygiene Program provides general education courses in the biological, behavioral, and social sciences during the first year of study. This may be completed on a part time basis with day or evening course offerings. Upon acceptance into the program, the remaining two years provide professional courses designed to coordinate classroom lectures with clinical and laboratory experiences, culminating with the Associate in Applied Science Degree . The last two years are presented during fall and spring semesters, five days a week (usually during the day). Some evening courses may be scheduled. The Dental Hygiene Program accepts 12 students each year and is accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation of the American Dental Association. Graduation from this program ensures eligibility to take licensure exams which are required before beginning employment.
